LIVESTOCK BREEDING  - DEVELOPMENT FACTOR OF PALILULA AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION

On the occasion of World Animal Day, under the auspices of Palilula Municipality -City of Nis, the equestrian club "Nonius" in the Gornje Medjurovo organized the Exhibition of domestic animals. The participants of this economic event welcomed on behalf of the President of Palilula Municipality, member of the Municipal Council Ivica Stojanovic. He pointed out that in addition to crop production, livestock breeding is in the rank of the most important factor in the stabilization of agricultural production in Palilula.

"Raising of big cattle is the most common in the plains and raising of small cattle like sheep and cattle, goats and sheep, is dominant in the highland region.The outstanding contribution to the development of the agricultural industry gave the Swedish project of integral development of the dairy production "Milk River" and the project "Improvement of goat breeding in mountainous area of Palilula municipality," said Councilman Stojanovic. With the realization of this project it is promoted the racial composition of cows, sheep and goats, adapted the accommodation capacities and raised milk production on a higher level.

Aleksandar Zdrale, vice president of Palilula Assembly, and members of scout squad `Kralj Petar Prvi` together with the representatives of the Agriculture administration department were also present at the exhibition.

The exhibition was accompanied by a cultural program, which was completed by the following performances: Aleksandar Vasilev from Dimitrovgrad, on the fife, KUD from Belotinac and Šainovac, Miroslav Petrovic from Gornje Međurovo on fives and Srdjan Djordjevic from Nis on guitar.
